Jonathan Weed, a long-time and diverse tradesman of the Los Angeles music world has now moved into full-time songwriting and production in Valencia, Spain. In his work, Jonathan is guided by the goal of being of service; serving the client, serving the song, taking what's there and making it better.

Through various positions he has worked in a wide scope of genres from Metal to Funk, Country to K-Pop and toured with noted artists such as KISS, Dwight Yoakam, and Toni Braxton to name a few, and. His work has garnered 3 platinum Dvd awards and taken him around the world.

Jonathan is a longstanding and proud endorser of Voodoo Lab and D'addario.

Bio

After graduating Berklee College of Music, Jonathan was awarded the school’s internship in Film Scoring with The Society of Composers and Lyricists. His relocation to Los Angeles opened doors to work with notable composers such as Alf Claussen (Simpsons), Jay Chattaway (Star Trek), and Dan Foliart (Home Improvement) while studying with the wonderful Jack Smalley, who passed away in 2019.  

Jonathan’s acquaintance with classical composer and parodist, Peter Schickele, led to a rewarding professional relationship with Pasadena Symphony conductor, Jorge Mester, and experiences such as attending onstage score readings with the orchestra.

His career progressed with scoring various projects and independent films, alongside performing with several bands throughout Los Angeles. Jonathan also took part in recording sessions at prominent L.A. studios, including The Record Plant, Henson, Capitol Records and Red Bull studios and also served as the house producer at Eargasm Studios.

He has had the pleasure of working with renowned songwriter and producer Greg Prestopino, and received mentorship from Emmy-winning producer Michael Parnin, with whom Jonathan worked on several songs (including an album by Dug Pinnick.) 
His contributions to the “Kissology” trilogy marked another career milestone.

Since 2005, Jonathan has built a versatile career in live music touring, serving as everything from merchandise sales to musical director, and filling technical roles like guitar/backline tech and Protools operator for artists including KISS, Pat Benatar, Dwight Yoakam, Cyndi Lauper, GRL, Fifth Harmony (5H), G-Dragon, Paul Stanley, Toni Braxton, Heaven & Earth, Robert Randolph and Benise, etc., and through the Notes For Notes charity, worked the stage with Slash, Alan Parsons, Don Felder and Jimmy Vivino and The Basic Cable Band.

He is a founding member of metal band, SchwarZenatoR along with long-time friend, Shane Gibson (1979-2014) and has been a member of The Fuxedos with Ryan Brown (Zappa). Jonathan has also performed onstage with artists such as GRL and noted drummers Thomas Lang and Gregg Bissonette. 

His diverse discography includes collaborations with American Idol and The Voice contestants, and he boasts the unique distinction of having his guitar solo performed by “Weird Al” Yankovic in a music video. 

Presently, Jonathan is honored to compose and produce music with artists from around the world.

Jonathan Weed is an animal lover and spent years as an advisor for an animal sanctuary. He has lived in several European countries as well as the U.S. and is currently studying Spanish.
